Pokemon3D, THE greatest free Poke game found online?

This new Pokemon free game is called Pokemon3D. Pokémon3D is a re-invention of the classic Pokémon Gold and Silver games by Nintendo and was chosen by the developer (who is still in high school i think) because these were the first real Pokemon games he played and I guess loved them because of that .
As always you need to be the top Pokemon trainer of all time but you do this all in realtime 3D – you go around the grasslands and capture, battle and defeat wild Pokemon, you can also walk around towns collecting items and Pokemon just like a real Pokemon game. The best part, apart from the great 3D and that this Pokemon game is free, is that you can play with a friend in LAN co-op, it would be great if this part could be completely online so you could play against friends around the world. It says the game is currently under development and features are added frequently so maybe this will be an option one day.

It’s true, Pokémon3D does remind me of Minecraft because of the cool pixelated style but that is tpart of the charm of it. You can look around freely like all 3D games but just like real, official Pokemon games you can only move about straight forward, straight back, straight to the sides.

This free game looks like it is updated almost weekly. The latest version out at the moment is Pokémon3D v0.23 and it contains a few new features. They list them as…
• Resizeable game window
• English and German Language selection (I guess more languages are planned for later)
• Content packs (Content packs are basically texture packs, you can replace the original textures with your own.)
• Daycare system ( That’s where you can drop of Pokemon that you have captured to be raised in the care of other people.)
• New moves (recoil moves, transform and others)
• Gate map between Ilex Forest and Route 34
• Autosave (If you quit to the menu, save the game or enter a wild Pokémon battle, the game autosaves your current save state.)
• Map is redone
• Updated the Trainer AI
This is a windows only game, sorry any Mac fans but you miss out.
The new version is obtainable in the launcher and they have only just updated that a few days ago. The new launcher has a number of new functions and settings and you will need it if you want the newer versions of the free game.
I am sure there is more to talk about, hopefully the developer can comment here and add a little more.

Would this be the coolest free Pokemon Online RPG - Pokemon Survival Island

Pokémon Survival Island. I stumbled upon this free Pokemon online RPG for the Mac or PC just the other day. It isn’t released yet but the developer, ferriswheel42, says it should release a demo on the 1st of March. What I see looks pretty good for a fan made free Poke game. They say that Pokemon: Survival Island will change how you play Pokémon because all the Pokemon Centres, Poke Shops and Gyms are gone. So are all the houses, villagers and welcoming Professors. This leaves only you the player and all the wild Pokemon – all 386 of them. And it also has a cryptic note that says someone out there wants you very, very dead, whatever that could mean!!

The game was at first envisioned to link Pokémon gameplay and Minecraft gameplay, but swiftly became research in game design. More on the Pokemon/Minecraft later on in the article.

So what’s the plot story in this game? You the player, are an intern employed by Silph Co., you are involved in a is the only survivor of a treacherous boat crash, and now you are shipwrecked on a uninhabited, forsaken island. You have only basic supplies and the remaining Pokémon where you must try to stay alive in unfriendly surroundings. You begin to reveal the mysteries of an ancient civilisation and the further you explore this rough country the more you realise that the boat crash was not an accident. Pretty good premise for a freebie Pokemon game isn’t it?

Seeing the Player is all by themselves on this deserted island, they must cope with what is around them. There are small areas (camps) set up in caves and other protective areas and they have worktables, distilling pots and mortar and pestles for item making. They also have beds for sleeping and chests for storing items and your Pokémon. You start with one base camp but the further you get in the game the more supplies you collect to furnish extra camps.

This game has a crafting component, they say it was motivated by Minecraft. Crafting is a way for you to acquire items seeing, as I mentioned above, that shops do not exist on Pokemon Survival island. In your travels you will run into a number of plants that have berries etc. You need to farm these and then go to your camp and use the workbenches, brewing pots and mortar and pestles to create all types of items like Poke Balls and Vitamins.

Even though there will be weak and strong wild Pokémon encounters they are proportionally adjusted to the average level of the player's party but could still mean that sometimes you will stumble upon a wild Pokémon that will be stronger than the Player's. This makes it harder to catch and harder to escape from but that is the challenge. The developer has also taken some design ideas from Nintendos The Legend of Zelda The island has eight temples built by some ancient civilisation. These temples are full of traps and assortments of all types of mysterious Pokemon but they also contain prehistoric relics that are key to unravelling the mystery of the island.

UnovaRPG Online Pokemon Game

Ok, it is time for a new free online Pokemon game. And, as you can tell by the title, it is called UnovaRPG Pokemon Online Game. I have no isea why it has the name UnovaRPG, I guess it stands for something. This online Pokemon RPG is a renamed version of Pokemon Indigo that I reviewed a while back in 2008.
So much so that it mentions Indigo many times on it's site.
Anyway the game itself is like most, UnovaRPG is a free online game that allows you to catch, trade and battle. No download is needed with this , it is a browser based Pokemon game so all you need to do is set up your team with up to six Pokemon monsters and start battling online against other Pokemon players from around the world - they say there are 700,000 trainers (players) but that seems a huge number, not sure if it is true.
There are five Poke regions and each of these have eight badges that you can earn and an Elite 4 region, plus there is also a training region so you can practise and train your Pokemon and try to catch some new ones. It looks like they have all the Pokemon from five generations . I am not sure if you can catch all of them on the maps or whether you need to trade with other players in order to get them all.
They have a Spanish version as well as, I think, a Facebook version of the Pokemon game.

A new free pokemon RPG - Pokemon Grass

I have tracked down another free pokemon game. This game is a proper online RPG game not like the Pokemon Indigo or Pokemon Crater style game. This isn't really a graphic based game like most - they are based a bit on Pokemon games from the original Gameboy and DS game carts - this game is like the old fashioned text based ones. So there is no wandering around a map using your curser keys or mouse, it is completely forum based. Forum based?What does that mean? Pretty much you have a starter Pokemon then you post, someone replies, you post again. Pretty boring hey?

Is it worth playing - quick answer, no. Long answer - no. I couldn't play at all and when I look on the forums it hasn't been played for a while. No one is around, no players at all. Maybe it get busy on some days but I doubt that.

This is one free Pokemon game that even for free is not worth visiting and trying out. I guess you want to know the name but I am not putting a link down. It is called Pokemon Grass.

Free Online Pokemon Games - Pokemon-Area

This free Pokemon online game that I am reviewing is called Pokemon-Area. It is a pretty good game to play and has all the Pokemon MMORPG components you would like.
It look like any of the other games, I guess, just like a free version of a DS or GBA game. The graphics are not really similar to these cart games. It has the same style but not the same quality. I think the graphics lets it down a lot - have a look at the battle screen - the Pokemon themselves are just too small. Maps are a little better I guess.
But of course it's an online play, where you not just play against other Pokemon but online players around the world. This where all the fun is - getting to battle against some other trainer that is a real person and not a computer. I didn't get to try this out as at the time it seems there was no-one else online - maybe it was because of the time-zone I am in in fact I am sure I didn't get to try every option and area in this game.
It looks to be a fairly popular game with lots of members and seems to be updated pretty often which is an important things to note with a free Pokemon Online game. Lots of options makes it really good but graphics let it down. The whole site works well and sign on was a breeze.

Pokemon Kryptonite Free Online Game

Pokemon Kryptonite (strange name, is it a cross between Pokemon and Superman?) is another of these online Pokemon games. Of course like all the others it is a fanmade and managed game and completely free to play. One great thing is it is a completely browser based game so that means ever Apple Mac OSX user can play this free Pokemon game.

I played the game for an hour or so, it's OK but for me a little slow when moving about the maps - I tried the exploration areas of the game - way too slow and very boring - nothing like a gameboy game but then again I guess it is not meant to be. The battles were pretty good as you can see I beat Zero's Kryptonite Lugia in one shot - Head Smash - with my little Gible. The online battles are not in real time like some of the really good Pokemon MMORPGs out there - meaning you are not playing against a live player, instead you are battling their Pokemon that is computer controlled.

I am not sure of what type of community this game has got as it looks like the top players are just after a high score in money, level or referrals. A few players say they are online nearly all the time but when I was there the site said there were only two players, me being one. They have about 750 Pokemon players but I am thinking that only a small percentage of these are actually active players. Hey, give it a go, it's Pokemon, it's free, so it's all good.

Pokemon MMORPG Mystery Dungeon Hunters of Life

I have tracked down another Pokemon MMORPG but this one doesn't seem worth trying. Someone left a comment saying to try out Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Hunters of Life. I have tried to register to be able to play but I never receive a email to be able to confirm my address, so I can never be a member of this free Pokemon online game.

The idea of the game seems pretty good as normally these online games you play as a trainer only but the game gives you the option of playing as a Pokemon trainer or a Pokemon character (I guess just like an online version of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon).

There are a few pictures showing the maps, they look good and they say it is an original Pokemon storyline with 20 complete game chapters. It seems like it has a number of members (not sure how many) playing but without being able to log in and play online against others I can not really say how it is.

Pokemon Den Of Ages Free Online RPG Game

It has been a while since I last wrote about the Pokemon: Den Of Ages game. This free Pokemon game has a new home and a new version since I last looked.

Just this week they have got the new Server Yellow online and the online game is now at v4.0 public release and ready to download. Now, of course there will be some bugs I guess but it is a milestone to get Pokemon Den Of Ages RPG this far! Well done to the folks Involved and the coder and founder, Silver.

This Pokemon game is worth another look if you have played it for a while.

Pokemon Neon Free Online RPG

Another free online pokemon mmorpg game has popped up. This game is made in RPG Maker XP, along with netplay. This is an online Pokémon game made a bit like Pokemon Cyrus and Pokemon Crater. It has been worked on for several years, it is at version 2.4 at the moment.

A little about the history of this game. The programmer said he really wanted to make his own online pokemom rpg games, but didn’t want to make a normal Pokemon game he wanted a game where you could interact with other players online. He said he used the free MMO RPG maker a server called Netplay, and Pokemon Quest Online, is now Pokemon Neon! The game screenshots look very very good don’t you think.

Free Pokemon Adventure MMORPG on Facebook

This Pokemon Adventure online game is the second free Pokemon game on Facebook I have found so far. It seems to be much the same as the other one (called Send Pokemon) and actually could be the same game . So far has it has five thousand people playing this online game.
So if you have a facebook account and you love Pokemon you should try this new pokemon online game! This game needs no downloading required and it saves automatically when you exit.

Send Pokemon | Free Online Pokemon Games

Send Pokemon is an interesting version of a Free Online pokemon Game. You can release all those cute little Pokemon (all 151 original pokemon are able to be unlocked) to battle your friends! BUT this game is a free pokemon game for Facebook. At the moment there are over 65,000 user each day with this game! So train you Pokemon and get to battle!
Let me know what you think of this online pokemon game please, it is something different to play while waiting for a good Pokemon Crater Battle Arena game.

Pokemon Cyrus Revelation

Pokemon Cyrus Revelation is looking to be a pretty good online Pokemon game. It is Beta at the moment so it's not running all the time but give it a go anyway.
The game has a great Pokedex where you can search for information about any Pokemon. The game is pretty much like the graphics from Ruby/Saphire/Emerald/Fire Red/Leaf Green versions of Nintendo Pokemon games for the Game Boy or the DS, now add lots of Team Rocket goons running around and that's Pokemon Cyrus Revelation.
Cyengine . Not sure what this free Pokemon RPG is doing at the moment.
